So, due to the vagaries of love and May-December marriages, my father was 75 when I was born. I’ll be 41 on 28 January '05.

My pop was born on 12 January 1889. Beat that, anybody!

And no, he’s not still alive. He died on 26 June 1968.

Sir Rhosis

P. S. I have a little brother, born 29 June 1965! My dad and James “Scotty” Doohan would probably have hit it off.

</div>

Just to clarify. It’s a poll to see whose dad was born first, not a poll of whose dad was oldest at the time of your birth.

I’d still probably win both ways, though.

Sir Rhosis

Perty damn good. I thought I had a shot, what with my dad being born almost exactly 100 years after Abe Lincoln (in January of ought nine) but you’ve got me beat by twenty years.

Yes, I’m beaten too, but maybe I can make honorable mention. I was born in 1960, Dad was born in 1913. Just a little late!

Holy Mackerel! Old man born in the 1800’s!

Well, my old man would have kicked his ass. He flew Super-Sonic Jet Fighters! Your old man would have cursed “Old-Fashioned Style” (Gad-Zooks you Tyrant!) in a Napalm death ring as my old man flew off!

PS- Mine’s dead, too. So this is a post-mortum pissing contest if I ever saw one! 😉

YOu cannot make honorable mention. My father was born in 1910. Beat that!

So was my mother.

Their youngest grandchild (my son) was born in 1995.

No, that’s right. **Sir Rhosis** first, **Pseudotriton ruber ruber** second, you, **Cicada2003** third and I’ve got Honourable Mention. So far anyway.

What is even weirder to consider… I have no kids… but if I did, even this year, my offspring could very well live to celebrate the 200th anniversary of their grandfather’s birth.

Christ, if I’m alive and have kids at age 75 (in 2039)… the math gets even more amazing.

My hat’s off to you, **Sir Rhosis**. My father was born in 1900 and was 57 when I was born. My mother was one month shy of her 26th birthday when she gave birth to me.

Might I ask what was the age difference between your parents?

Well, truthbot, you beat me to it. It just dawned on me this morning that next Thursday would be my Daddy’s 100th birthday. Yep, January 13, 1905. (He always claimed it was a Friday. I never wanted to check.) In February he’ll be gone 15 years. He was nearly 51 when I was born.

So I guess that moves you into second place and me into third, right?

And you guys definitely have me beat in the age difference category. My parents were only 15 years apart.

My freakin’ grandfather was born in 1889! My parents were both born in 1931 and still kicking. I was born in 1968 and am now (or will be when my birthday rolls around in November) the same age as my parents when I was born. Man, I feel like crap. Thanks guys. 😉

Father born in July 4, 1906.

He was 64 when I was born. My mom was 24.

Looks like I come in 4th re: the birthday, but am in 1st for top age of father at birth and age difference between biological parents.

Beat that! 🙂

_grumble_ Hmmph, my dad had to go be born on July 27, 1910. Way to lose a post-mortem pissing contest, dad! 😛

And in the age difference category, there were only 32 years between my parents. I love putting that word only in there!

Oh yes, my father was age 69 at my birth. Not quite 75, but more than old enough to be a parent.
