Ha - Bored today at work. Well not bored as such more don’t want to do what I have to do. Houston was fun…spent the week permenantly hungover as I am way to old to be out drinking on school nights and be expected to be in class the next day all perky & attentive. My car still is not fixed either and I have a cold and I really feel like whining. ☹ ---

Random thoughts, in no particular order. Husband just called. I was upset about (insert minor matter here, masking larger, more important issue) and we got to talking (after the clear the air sniping) about our future. We had agreed to separate once he found a job out of state. Now he says that he was fine with us staying together… :eek: I am not, sad to say, sooo we are back to him looking for work out of state. (He is the one who wants to move, BTW). Have to make a birthday cake today for my daughter–the big 16 today. time flies. I need to find a local writer’s workshop that I can attend before I lose my mind. Anyone have any ideas how to do so? I will call the library soon. Kitchen floor is nasty-needs cleaning. Who is volunteering? Don’t all crowd, now! I am glad that the crockpot cake worked out for all concerned. **Draelin** --that condo looks so cool! Now you need a hunchback and a sexy gyspy…(a sexy gypsy hunchback???). Work tomorrow–then off until next Tuesday! Yay! I’m kinda liking the “out foul demon” bit…hmmm–mayhaps I’m a closet Lestat fan? My personal favorite: _Good friends, Good meat, Good God, Let’s eat!_ I’ve been trying to memorize the Selkirk grace, for those times when some member of my extended family _innocently_ (HA!) asks me to say grace.\* The Selkirk Grace often attributed to Robert Burns, but in fact already in use in his time. Scots Some hae meat and canna eat, and some wad eat that want it, but we hae meat and we can eat, and sae the Lord be thankit. Gaelic translation Tha biadh aig cuid, 's gun aca ca\il, acras aig cuid,‘s gun aca biadh, ach againne tha biadh is sla\int’, moladh mar sin a bhith don Triath. I’ve just been reliably informed that while the contract won’t be signed until the seller gets home from work, my offer’s been _accepted!!!_ Happy dance ensues. Penis might ensue if I had one, but I do not, nor do I have access to one at this time. So, with any luck, tomorrow begins attorney review. I don’t really know what happens after that, but I’m sure somebody will let me know. For now, I’m making lists of furniture I have, furniture I need to throw out, and furniture I will be needing. Tomorrow, I might go pick up paint chips at Home Depot. 😃 :more happy dance: ---

Congrats, **Drae**!! Very exciting and very cool! I hope the whole deal goes smoothly. I took off work early today to take **FCD** to his surgeon for a follow-up appointment. All is going well - he returns in 3 weeks for xrays, and with luck, he can go back to work. Poor guy is bored outta his tree!! Even working in ManLand doesn’t keep him amused all day. It’s rainy and chilly (mid 40s) and I have a fire going, so it’s cozy in here. That’s all I’ve got. Has somebody got **Rue** ’s phone number? Someone needs to call him and yell at him for ignoring us. After all, lots of us work, too, and we post. Sheesh. No, he hasn’t emailed me lately, either. ---

**Kalley** sorry to hear about your pup. Neer a good thing. Sounds like she was a wonderful companion to your mom. **Drae** Yeah for your new house! And I have no idea what attorney review means, other than it costs money. Anything involving attorneys _always_ costs money. Just make sure you get the title insurance. That kept me from giving my brand new house back in 1992 right to the IRS a week after I bought it. Today has been a day. Swamped at work with RFQs and Purchase Orders. And I had to find a registered electrician to come to my house and find out what the monkeys-with-powertools did to break the electricity in the room they were installing the new hardwood floor. Which happens to be my and the GF’s bedroom with attached bath. So most of the lights are out and most of the outlets (shower by Coleman lantern). And those geniuses (and when I say geniuses I really mean dumb asses) only got about three hours of work done in the eight friggin’ hours they were at our house. (Can you believe that they forgot their tools when they showed up at 10 a. m., and didn’t come back until 2 hours later with them?) Which translates into 1/2 of the floor actually not particle board (I ripped up the carpet Sunday night). (Hey, I said the OP would be about the alien, and never promised I wouldn’t write about home improvement this week!) And my mom, after spending two days in the hospital because of an attack of diverticulitis, decides to take me up on my offer of adopting her cats, Rascal and Toy (obligatory pictures to follow at a future date), this week. In fact, at 4 p.m. she was driving south on I-95 near the Quantico exit. Can someone give me some extra parentheses? I seem to have used all of mine today. ---

I might be able to get one leg in those shorts.
