Geez, I post a Democrat-slamming gloat post IN A REPUBLICAN GLOAT THREAD, and a pack of very depressed liberals want to come in and debate with Democrat doom and gloom talking points. He would singlehandely smack the board lefties around, page after page in these drawn-out threads. They finally got him on a lame technicality. The reason I say you are obviously not him is a difference in posting style. You do, however, cheese off the Obnoxious Left around here, and that is always a welcome addition, IMO, to these boards! Can’t let them turn this into another version of the DU boards… ---

What happened, as I recall, was that December posted a quote and either assailed or defended it. His resident enemies immediately took the opposite side, whichever it was, and defended or assailed it. He then revealed that the quote was from either Bill Clinton or Hillary, catching his opponents with their pants down, reacting like knee-jerk automatons, and going counter to one of their great heros. Well, naturally, they raised holy hell and started the mother of all pile-ons and pushed it until a mod had to do the equivalent of a mercy killing. It was a brilliant OP on his part, and the sourpusses got what they deserved. If they had relied on principle, rather than petty allegiances, they never would have fallen prey to the trick. But they accused him of trolling — basically by redefining the term to mean “person who pissed me off by out maneuvering me”. And he was banned. ---

Yup. That’s the way I remember it. But basically, I thnk the mods were looking for a reason to get rid of him, because he refused to back down and be cowed by the mob. I guess it never occured to anyone that maybe the problem was that they allowed a mob to form… ---

I only read the first link above, and two pages of the second… but it sounds like this **december** person was quite the gadfly around here. The most egregious offense being that he posted too many OPs. I can understand getting banned for that. But for the limited time I’ve been here, the left-wingers are the usual mix of 1.“polite and understanding”, 2.“polite but intellectually bigoted”, and 3.“very rude”. It’s not unexpected, it happens everywhere. In fact, I was was looking for a Democrat board with a large contingent of “number ones” as defined above, and I was directed to this board. However, "number two"s have been prevailing in Great Debates (it could be just a product of me showing up at the end of the election). And it seems the OPs in the Great Debates at the moment which are inflammatory trolling (or just amazingly ignorant) are mostly against Bush/Republicans/Conservatives. But, this isn’t a december thread, so … Woo hoo! Go team! This land did surely vote for us! Not the liberal we. ee. ners. And I don’t see why Democrats feel compelled to post on this gloat thread. I’d understand if it were a Great Debate or Democrat discussion on how to win next time. \_ \_ ---
