But December _wasn’t_ trolling. He generally stayed and defended his point of view. What he did was start a lot of threads that incited people on the left and caused a lot of screaming and shouting. But I’d say the problem was with the people who were screaming and shouting. There are a lot of left-wing types on this board who post thread after thread of inflammatory rhetoric against Republicans and Conservatives. They don’t erupt into massive flamewars because the conservatives don’t respond the way you guys did with December. And towards the end, December could have posted a thread saying puppies were cute, and you guys still would have blown a gasket. In the end, the best description of what happened to December is that he was run out of town on a rail. His kind wasn’t welcome 'round these parts. ---

Okay, that’s enough. Confirmed Bush-voter and Republican Moderator here. December’s expulsion had nothing to do with his political leanings, and everything to do with posting threads that were misleading or outright lies; being warned about it; and continuing to do it. We have banned and suspended other posters for not sticking to the rules, and an inability to take warnings into account, no matter their political leaning. As I pointed out, I believe earlier in this thread, reeder is currently on a one-month suspension for his inability to adhere to the rules, and if he cannot adhere to the rules after his suspension is over, he will be banned. The posters to this board are overwhelmingly liberal. But rest assured that there is no political bias amongst the staff. If there was, I would no longer be a moderator. John Corrado ---

I never said it was a matter of bias. My opinion was that, in the end, December was just a pain in the neck, and GD was being constantly disrupted. But yeah, it’s old news and there’s no point talking about it. ---

I don’t know from where you culled the “bias” thing wth respect to mods. It was the members who were (and are) biased politically. (So are mods, actually, being human and all, but they normally repress it rather well in the fulfillment of their duties.) Every debate is misleading. The opening side leaves his best refutations unstated. He purposely does not make his opponent’s best argument even though he knows it (or should know it). He interprets facts to suit himself, and so do his respondents. Every debator pulls Michael Moore type crap: 51% is of no statistical significance when speaking of Bush’s popular vote, but of onerous significance when speaking of polls about dissatisfaction with the way the country is going. And vice-versa for the other side. If someone got tricked because Hillary’s mouth can spout no wrong, then blaming December merely exacerbated the intellectual dishonesty. It was the equivalent of “Damn him for my being so stupid!” ---
