I’m sorry you had such an unsatisfatory experience Heloise, but can we please have fulll details of the chicken recipe? It sounds fantastic!
And yes, the Melkweg is still there, I believe.

Yeah, Heloise; when I read your second post, I thought, “Wait…she’s starting off with a drink?” Not necessary, and in fact, not recommended. Alcohol and weed have very different effects, and they don’t blend well. A drunk person who tokes up will probably get sick. So will a person who’s thoroughly baked and tries to drink. And even if you’re blending them gradually, each one will still detract from the sensations brought on by the other.
Now, I know you weren’t drunk on one or two ciders, but that still wasn’t a good idea, being as you are new to the smoking experience. The alcohol set the tone for you, and made you unreceptive to the other substance. Is my guess, anyway. Next time, have a good meal first, like you did this time, then smoke up and wait. Save the dessert for this; you’ll never experience chocolate mousse the same way.
Keep us posted!
What Rilchiam said. Plus I’ll chime in on the “it took me 5 tries” bandwagon. I got sick the first 3 because it was mixed with alcohol, then the 4th was just a slight feeling of “Is this a slight feeling or ???” Then the 5th was a very nice experience.
I’ve read it before and I believe it to be true that marijuana can be a ‘learned’ experience. Your body and mind have to learn how to interpret the drug and its effects. If you throw another drug into the mix, especially at the beginning, you ‘confuse’ your body- it is wondering what is going on, and probably is dumping hormones and other body chemicals into your bloodstream to deal with it. But after you learn what is going on…whoo-hoo! What this learning means with pot later on is that someone who smokes pot occasionally but regularly can reduce the amount they smoke- their body knows what to do with what it gets. When I smoke now I use only a piece the size of a lentil, max. That pre-fab you got would probably last me a month or longer.
Have a nice meal, and enjoy the dessert!

Believe me, Heloise, if you persist, it will eventually affect you. One mistake I made was to keep increasing the dosage until it did have an effect. Bad mistake, as it was an intense and terrifying experience. Therefore, if you do persist, still take it easy - don’t increase the amount, just repeat with a tiny amount.
Actually, I didn’t really have a recipe, just a kind of, “Let’s do this and see what happens.” But, it turned out well, so here goes.
I chopped up shallots and garlic and stuffed them in the chicken then, with butter, between the skin and flesh of the chicken. I rubbed the chicken with a South African spice blend called Peri Peri Kruidery and cooked all in a convection oven. After the chicken was finished, I put the drippings into a sauce pan, (making sure some of the shallots and garlic were in the mix) heated, and added a splash or two of white wine. I let that cook off for a minute, then added the chestnut mushrooms. When it was close to finished, I turned down the heat, tempered the creme fraiche, and added it to the mix.
The sauce was good with just the mushrooms, or with the chicken. Turned out pretty yummy, I think.
We were in Amsterdam a couple of months ago. The 2 g of Northern Lights bought from Rookies near the Leidseplein was the best stuff I have ever had.
But irishfella made me change to Crystal Haze…he prefers me a little less chilled, and able to contruct sentences of more than 3 words!
We really like Rookies (clean bathroom, pool table, coffee only 2 euros), and HATED the Bulldog Palace with a vengeance. We were also in a rasta place on Prinsengracht (Easy Times?) that was pretty nice.
But we indulge on a fairly regular basis (at the point where I can mix dope with drink and not white out, if you want a measure), so it wasn’t really a novelty to me.
I really like being able to smoke out and about, rather than sitting in the house, it was nice and relaxing and made the fact that we didn’t have any money for sight-seeing irrelevant.
For good munchies go to Big Banana’s Night Shop, the name alone makes it worth while when you’re stoned.
coconut joes and a water pipe made from a tree ripe coconut was where it was for me. mrs.phlosphr and I endulged for 4 days before skipping over to Finland for a 5 day spa treatment…
