on Tuesday. She will find out if she has cancer then. Her family - mother and sister - have both died from ovarian cancer. She has cysts on both her ovaries, and she is scared shitless. I felt so impotent when I went to visit her yesterday. Held her while she cried. I gave her a massage. I fixed her a chicken salad sandwich and a glass of milk. All good thoughts are appreciated for my sweet friend Rita. ---

I had a hysto a couple of years ago. She’s in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck to her! You’re a kind friend to be there for her like you are. ---

I had my uterus and ovaries removed about four and a half years ago. I had fibroid tumors in my uterus and cysts on both ovaries, too. Mine turned out to be non-cancerous, and I hope your friend has the same outcome. They’re getting much better at finding and treating cancer and other diseases in the early stages now. I hope that your friend heals quickly and uneventfully. ---

i also wish the best for your friend. on a lighter note, how do you females live with those things? it’d be like having a split personality…something that interrupts and bitches every month… i dunno maybe i’m making it out worse than it is, being on the other side of the aisle and all ---

She’s in my prayers. Ovarian cancer is one of the suckiest kinds of cancer because it gets diagnosed late. I pray one day we’ll develop a good early dection test for it like the pap smear. ---

Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers. I just talked to her, and she seems to be holding up ok. She’s pissed that she has to fast today! She wants to eat. :: crossing my fingers and toes :: ---

Update: She’s out of surgery and in recovery. Everything went well and she’s doing fine, the nurse told me. 🙂
