Back to Miyazaki. If you haven’t caught Laputa yet check it out. Nausicaa is slated to be released here too.
I wanted to say exactly this. There is no such thing as “zero-taste in movies”. To me, Million Dollar Baby and Constantine were equally good shows.
Who didn’t like The Big Lebowski? (OK, I didn’t the first time I saw it, but I think I’m a rare breed in that respect. This seems to be a universally beloved movie.)
Yeah, well, is your friends’ taste in movies worse than mine? I like cheezy disaster movies, especially ones where I can nitpick science mistakes
Solution to OP:
“Hey, guys, why don’t we see movie Y tonight instead of movie X? We’ll see what you guys want to watch next time, but just give this one a try, eh?”
Win / Win all around.
But it’s in blaaaaaaack and whiiiiiiiiiiiiite. It sucks!
-Joe, sees the future
Nausicaa’s been out in the States for a few months now. The dub is pretty good, too. It’s got Patrick Stewart.
Having already shot my credibility by admiting that I watch dubbed anime, I might as well add that I thought Laputa was pretty dull.
And subtitled. I mean, who wants to read all that dialog?
Ran, Kagemusha, and Dersu Uzala are all in color, though.
Stranger
Ahem.
Several of his films are in color.
Including the one that retells King Lear in samurai motif.
If more caffine, then title. Bosda groggy…
