Everytime I try to check my e-mail I sign in normaly and go to my inbox, and once I click on an email, the page goes back to the log in screen. It’s been happening for a few days and I’m not sure if it’s an issue with G-mail, or it’s just something wrong with my computer. Help!

Sorry, i can’t help you, but i just signed into my gMail account and everything seemed to be working fine. Have you tried with more than one browser (IE, Firefox, Opera), just to make sure it’s not a problem specific to a particular browser?

Have you changed your IE security settings recently? Or has something else changed them for you? Cookies, that sort of thing?

That I know of, nothing has been changed on this computer. I have a feeling it’s got something to do with the cookies, but I haven’t changed anything.

I think it just might be my AOL browser. Damned AOL. I was just also wondering if anyone else had the same issue too.

Yeah, you might want to try clearing the cache in AOL, just because AOL uses a few nasty tricks to “speed up” your internet connection.

Clearing the cache should clean everything up. To make sure though, use Internet Explorer, if you can, and try to access your gmail with that. If that works, then it is definitely an AOL issue.

In either case, I would call AOL just to harrass their tech guys.

Why do you have AOL in the first place? _shudders violently_

I have the same problem sometimes, and have to do a hard refresh in IE to fix it, so I agree that clearing the cache will probably do the trick.

We’ve had it since it pretty much first came out, and even though there are MUCH better things out there for cheaper, my parents refuse to change. Though whenever they complain about something downloading to take about 10 hours, I jump on them saying if we didn’t have AOL we could have gotten it downloaded about 9 and a half hours sooner. I’ll just use the internet explorer we have to check my emails from now on.

I have the same issue and it started randomly about 2 weeks ago and I hadn’t changed any computer settings; I also can’t log into the web-based AOL client either. The only fix I’ve found is to install Firefox and use that to check Gmail.
