I look at it this way, if a gay guy is checking you out _in_ the gym, then the straight ladies will most likely be checking you out _outside_ the gym. And really, if the ladies are checking you out, who cares about the guys, right? Maybe one of the guys at your gym could hook you up with one of their girlfriends. ---

I don’t shower at the gym (it’s right next door) so I can’t really commiserate. But I think shower doors are a good thing for everyone for this reason: After working out one day, my husband and I both went to our respective locker rooms to weigh in since we have no scale at home. When he came out he begged me to gouge his eyes out with hot needles. Of course I didn’t comply with his request. Seems he saw one of the gym regulars exiting the shower, the guy we refer to as Sasquatch or Yeti, he wouldn’t give details… therapy seems to be helping with the nightmares. Showers with doors would prevent this type of trauma. Maybe there should be legislation. ---

All-State soccer, softball and sprinter in high school, all-conference sprinter in college. She’s an athletic chickie and if I don’t keep in shape, she might be able to beat me in something other than 100m and 200m sprints. It’s a pride thing. 🙂 ---

As Jerry Seinfeld once said of the airplane bathroom, it’s like your own little apartment. And it’s a good thing. I’m not shy about walking to the shower naked, not least because I don’t want to wrap a fresh towel around myself when I’m all sweaty, and I’m definitely not excessively modest, but somehow the idea of the actual _showering_ in front of others puts me off. I can’t explain it. ---

Clean, impeccably decorated, tasteful, etc. etc. We even had individually partitioned stalls overlooking the locker room (key point here). The only problem was the shower curtains. They had this habit of developing small holes in them. At dead center. At eye level. Repeatedly. For the entire 2 years I was there. In fact, I’d say at any given time, about half the curtains had these holes, and any replaced curtain would last about 3 weeks before developing a similar hole. Oddly, these holes never developed anywhere else on the curtain. I’m sure it’s entirely coincidental that this defect allowed anyone using the shower to gain an unobstructed view of the entire men’s changing area while the observer remained unseen. Or at least that’s what I kept telling myself over and over… “it’s coincidental, entirely coincidental, nobody’s looking at me…” What can I say, the rates were really affordable and the equipment was cutting edge. ---
