When I went to check my e-mail tonight I saw a story about a nationwide recall of store-brand acetaminophen caplets. I checked out the [FDA press release](http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2006/NEW01507.html) and sure enough, the 500mg caplets that I bought two months ago were on the recall list. Apparently the manufacturer discovered metal fragments in a very small percentage of pills during a quality control test. Now here’s the thing – I’ve already taken more than half the pills in the bottle (not all at once, of course). I figure, hey, my stomach hasn’t been ripped to shreds yet, so I might as well finish the bottle (again, not all at once). So if I end up with a tummy ache the next time I reach for my trusty bottle of generic Tylenol, I have no one but myself to blame.
