First, we are crazy. My husband only really recently “got it”. Now he really appreciates the intellectual stimulation I get from The Dope and the great friends I"ve made. It’s all a good thing! ---

Isn’t it fun starting at least 50% of your sentences with, “I was reading this great thread on a message board yesterday, and…” I actively _avoided_ message boards until about a year ago, and looked with suspicion on friend who had internet friends. Now I’ve got several emailpals, and I spend a ridiculous amount of time here, at the SDMB. The conversation’s good, and it’s almost the only place where you can count on the wordz beein speled rite. ---

I used to think my SO was a little odd to be putting copious amounts of energy into reading the thoughts and musings of strangers. I always like to try something, however, before I am too critical of it. I HAVE DEFINITELY BECOME A CONVERT! 1. I love debate and am unfortunately living in a culturally barren and intellectually vacuous area. This message board gives me much needed stimulation! 2. It’s hilarious. Sometimes I sneak a peek at work and can hardly contain myself! 3. It’s a fabulous resource. I love having access to the thoughts and wisdom of so many amazing minds. 4. It can be incredibly SILLY which is very important in a world of people who often take themselves overly seriously. I love it. It’s as simple as that. ---

I don’t know about crazy but my girlfriend thinks I’m a geek for posting here. Then I point out to her that I met because I went to a dopefest and met a doper’s wife who thought myself and her sister would be a good match. So in effect we started dating because of the internet.
