>
> Scaring the hell out of the nurse and giving my grandmother and her fellow patients one last laugh before she checked out. 😃

> She’ll be missed.

And the nurse believed her?

One Christmas when my Grandma was over 80, she asked me what I wanted for my gift. Farmer style overalls were my choice, and she was familiar with them, having been a farmer’s wife for most of her life.

After I opened my present she said I should try them on, and I did. After I came out from changing to model them, and said I needed to go change back into my regular clothes, she said “Wait!” and walked up to me. With a twinkle in her eyes, she reached up and undid the straps that hold up the front, and said “I haven’t done that in a long time…but I still remember how to do it” All present were amused no end. And Grandma laughed louder than I had ever heard; she was usually quite prim and proper.

She was probably one of the gentlest people I’ve ever known. A very wonderful Grandma.

My grandma was 89 and never used glasses. She drank right out of the bottle. 🙂

How did she manage to get it open once her teeth were gone?

Are you insinuating she pulled off the cap with her choppers? Nonsense, she broke off the cap on the side of the table and drank from the open neck. Like a lady. 😉

I totally agree. I’ve gotten a few folks with the same joke twice. But if you do it on your deathbed. Wow! Kudos.

And condolences as well. She kicked ass all her life, it sounds like. Respect!

Sorry to hear that about your grandmother. On the other side, your grandmother wanted to leave you funny memories of her.

Your grandmother sounds like an extraordinary woman! I love her prank, and I hope you inherited a lot of her genes!
P.S. another vote for a movie based on her life.
