My father-in-law was the same way. Lived in the city right near the ambulance but I was always his ride every heart attack he had.

I am extremely pissed right now. My co-worker, who’s been gone over two weeks, is off today for her RDO. The stupid BCA was supposed to be done yesterday, but it’s not.
Linkages are broken on a bunch of reports and I spent the damn morning g-damn fixing them and trying to put out some of my work. My new supervisor came in and told me I need to attend a meeting at the VA with her because she can’t take notes and my co-worker isn’t here.
I didn’t get my damn lunch; I’m hungry; I still feel sick from yesterday and NOTHING is going EFFING right. Arrrgh! I’m glad today (and it effin’ better be!) is my Friday. I’ve had with this shit. I’m so fucking buried and I can’t think straight.
And… I get to be here all by myself next week too. Fuck this shit, I’m really sick of it.

Aw, but if you start knitting, then it’d just be a hop, skip, and a jump over to spinning. And then you could take a project all the way from the sheep/goat/alpaca/rabbit/llama/whatever to the finished sweater/sock/scarf/blanket/whatever. Think how much fun _that_ would be!
We’re going to check out the opera tonight. Got cheap (well, relatively… $20/seat) tickets so we figured we’d try getting some culture. We’ve also been to a play and the orchestra in the last month. It’s like we’re all cultured 'n stuff!

Echo…echo…echo…
The second POD is gone, and we’re living with not much stuff at all. We’re down to a bridge chair or two, a small LCD TV, us, the dog, two fish and the stand that the aquarium sits on. It echos in here like crazy now.
I now have photographic evidence that POD PEOPLE exist! Unfortunately, the SD card reader got packed, so the photos are trapped on the camera for a while.
Whoever invented that Podzilla thing was a mechanical genius. It’s like a giant real-life Transformer toy how it detaches itself from the truck, sets is legs down, rolls over to the container, picks it up, then once the container is back on the truck, the 'zilla re-assembles itself onto the truck.
Now that the POD PEOPLE have all of our stuff, they’ll put both containers on one cross-country truck and send it east so our stuff will be waiting for us.

Heh. I’d never read the FSM’s suggestions. Pretty darn sensible.
If you learn to knit, **Spaz** , you’ll be able to do cool things like [knit these](http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer08/PATTspringforward.html). OK, so I’m still knitting the top of the sock and have never knit socks before, but I watched some sock-knitting videos on YouTube yesterday and decided I should be able to manage them. (What did we do before YouTube? Does anyone remember?) [Here’s](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NQMGCo_mXY) the first of the 4 videos I watched, by the way.
And, because I had an icky, stressful day, I’m going to knit lots and lots and watch something mindless.

You are all enablers.
I wanna knit quilts. As in knit the quilt blocks and then stitch them together. BUT FIRST I WILL FINISH MY CROSS-STITCH PROJECT. This will take six months to a year.
Of course, there’s always crochet. I don’t know. Looking at crochet hooks at the crafty store made me sad. I haven’t seen a crochet hook since my mom got sick and wow was I not prepared for my reaction. I had to look at the soft, spinnable wool right behind me so I wouldn’t show emotion. Must remain Vulcan-like!

Forgot to add hugs for **Li-Li** and family.
The meeting last three and a half hours! It could have gone on longer, but we were going to lose our room. Bah, waste of a day.
On the up side, today is my Friday, and I have a hair appointment for tomorrow. I’m seeing my friends on Saturday and some other friends on Sunday. So, the weekend should be good…I hope.
I guess I better see to dinner.

That’s great, **rebo.** It’s always nice to receive an “atta girl”.
Just found out I don’t have to bring green bean casserole for Thanksgiving to my sister’s place. That dish is sooooo old. I do have to bring a vegetable side dish, be it hot or cold, and I’ve been asked to be creative. Hmmmm, the wheels are turning…
I’m halfway through the new Stephen King book. It’s been pretty good, but I don’t think it’s as good as The Stand was.
I have to remember to stop by the butcher shop tomorrow. I’ve been asked to pick up ribeye steaks to take to our friend’s house on Saturday. Looks like tomorrow is errand day. Hair appt, grocery store, bank, butcher shop, and other assorted stops.
