Maggie likes to sit in the bathroom with me when I take a shower. Well, I had just taken a pee, and was about to close the lid and flush-when she tries to jump up on the toilet…and falls in! Argh! So the maternal unit and I had to give her yet another sponge bath! (Because she had a habit of stepping in her own poop). In all my years of having cats, I’ve NEVER had one fall in the toilet. Until now. ---

My kittie did that too, when he was just about 5 months old. I had just finished…umm…number 1 (blush) and I got up…he ran into the bathroom and jumped right in the toilet. Good thing I didn’t flush. I ran a warm bath, dunked him in, squirted some pet shampoo on him, rinsed him off and towel dried him. He hasn’t done it since! hehe ---

Same thing happened to me a couple nights ago. My newest kitten joined me in the bathroom at 4am. I tried to quickly shut the lid after I finished but she managed to jump in anyway. So I fished her out and gave her a bath. ---

Same thing happened to me. My kitten was using in the bathroom where I was installing a new bowl, when I slipped and dropped it right onto her head. Smushed the poor thing flat. Had to scrub kitten brains off the shower curtain for **weeks**. Oh, _your_ kitten fell _in_ the toilet. Nevermind. ---

you know that Baby Jesus is going to be crying over that one … More on topic, Evil Captor Jr. once dropped our rabbit in the toilet. He claimed he was carrying the rabbit around in his shirt and it fell out when he was getting ready to pee. No harm done, except we kid him about it now and then. We’re not sure we believe him … in any event, our rabbit is definitely Not Fond of toilets. ---

Guess I’m not the only one dealing with New Kitty learning about the bathroom. Three days ago, I’m standing there taking a leak. All of a sudden New Kitty comes zooming in, leaping over the toilet, right through the golden shower. Yesterday, the same thing happens. I think this is her new favorite game. ---

When I first got my cat 14 years ago, I was 10 years old and took baths rather than showers. My cat liked to stand on the side of the bathtub and watch. He fell in a couple of times (“I think I’ll stand on this knee sticking out of the water…oops”) and once he _jumped_ in (on purpose–I don’t know what he was thinking). After he jumped out he decided to use the litter box. The litter got stuck all over him. I couldn’t do much about it since I was in the bathtub, so my dad took him into the garage and washed him off. ---

I used to have a cat that would sit on the side of the tub when I was taking a bubble bath and bat at the bubbles with her paws. I was so tempted…but I never pulled her in. Sadly, that cat looked like a good chew toy to the neighbor’s Rottweiler, but that’s a whole 'nother story. I’d like to kill that dog. That wasn’t the only cat he ate. Anyway… Another cat I had years ago had a thing for sleeping in the bathroom sink. Again, too tempting…but I never turned the faucet on her. She just looked too peaceful. ---

Finally, I’m not the only one! My friends have been joking about how I’m the worst rabbit owner ever since my rabbit decided to spontaneously _fall_ in the toilet after sticking his nose in. At least the toilet was flushed beforehand, but I had to give William the rabbit a bath. He looked rather put-upon. ---

My wife was at the bathroom sink getting ready to take our 8-week-old kitten to the vet for a checkup, when said kitten fell in the toilet. We _had_ to give her a bath - can’t take a toilet-water-soaked cat to the vet. I don’t think she’s had a bath since, and that was 8 years ago. ---

My old cat, Snowball, used to tear through the house and jump with a loud KATHUMP! into the empty bathtub. Then he’d go into sneaky-pounce mode, peek over the side of the tub with his ears down (had to be sneaky and discreet and ears would be a dead giveaway, dotcha know.) Then he’d leap out of the tub and tear back down the hall from whence he came. So it was always the same scene: The drumming of thunder paws up the basement stairs… Thunder paws down the hallway… Thunder paws up the sencond story stairs… Thunder paws down the hall – moment of silence – KATHUMP! I was only about four years old. And I was getting ready for bed. drumming of thunder paws up the basement stairs… I was towelling off after my bath, drumming of thunder paws down the hallway… and I thought to myself “Strange, something is not quite right here…” drumming of thunder paws up the sencond story stairs Then it dawned on me – :eek: – I hadn’t pulled the plug in the bathtub! Drumming thunder paws down the hall – moment of silence – _ **KA-SPLASH!** _ – it was the mother of all belly flops! Followed by panicked squeaking sounds of desperate paws clawing at the ceramic, a soggy thud, and slip-sliding sloppy paws trying to race back to the basement.
