Well, it happened about a week before he proposed, if that helps. He’s for not going and, if I’m asked, use **sandra\_nz** ’s line about not being comfortable with the direction the conversation went, elaborating if needed.

I think it’s mostly isolated groups of idiots, **ems** , but I know they’re still around in some forms – several years ago, when I lived just on the Georgia/South Carolina border, there was a Klan march held on the South Carolina side. I was horrified, but they had a right to do it as long as they were peaceful, I guess. I think they had far more protesters than marchers.

A Neo-Nazi group has just been [arrested in Israel](http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6985808.stm).
Let me rephrase that, a group of Israeli citizens, who imigrated under the Law of Return, have been arrested for their active neo-Nazi group, which went around harassing and beating Jews.

Nothing really to add, just emphasizing that you can’t assume that any place is free of potentially violent, racist assholes.
