Even though the title mentions bronies, I want to make it clear that everypony is welcome.
Who’s your favorite one and why?
I read that each pony represents something, what is it?
Also, does anyone know of any pony/bear images out there? You know the bear I’m talking about.

Rarity is one of the main ponies in Friendship is Magic.
Moondancer is mentioned once in the first episode, and never again. (Applejack is the only G1 name Hasbro still has the trademark on, so every other major pony is either wholly original, or takes her\* name from a G2 or G3 pony. Rarity’s name comes from a G3, IIRC.)
- There are male ponies, but given the dearth of them pre-FiM, the majority have to be assumed to have original names.

[Here](http://cartoonoveranalyzations.com/category/tv-shows/my-little-pony/) it talks about pony personality disorders and classifies each one (except for Applejack, who’s apparently the sanest of them all).
I identify the most with Twilight Sparkle, with her bookishness, skepticism, and insular lifestyle. She’s pretty damn practical and level-headed for someone who started out so socially awkward, and I’m glad she’s making progress on becoming more well-rounded.
Rainbow Dash is probably my favorite pony, because she has the kind of personality I wish I had. Energetic, driven (sometimes too bloody much), and the ability to achieve awesome things (like the sonic rainboom).
I love Applejack as well, though she works too dang hard sometimes.
The other three ponies get on my nerves much more often. Rarity is such a whiny, high-maintenance priss, who wants nothing more than the latest fashion and _Prince Charming_. Ugh.
Fluttershy is too soft-spoken and spineless for me to like her. She’s that one person in a group who might get hurt feelings if everypony doesn’t walk on eggshells or says mean things. To be honest, she reminds me of myself when I was younger (painfully shy, oversensitive) and so find her annoying. Geez, I’m sure projecting on these ponies a lot.
And Pinkie Pie is just a damn fool moron who takes _nothing_ seriously. Can she develop the slightest bit of maturity and adult behavior, or is she going to stay a spiritual five-year-old forever?
These are just my personal opinions on the ponies, no offense intended.
One thing I really like about the show is their willingness to take on potentially heavy topics like slavery, intellectual skepticism, and the search for identity (although I am sick to death of the Cutie Mark Crusaders).

Heh. I’m almost the opposite, with the exception of also being a Twilight fan. I like that she manages to make being bookish and studious seem _cool._ My childhood may have been happier (not that it was unhappy by any means) with a role model like that!
I said in the other thread that the other five ponies are pretty much tied for second in my mind, and that’s true - one of my favorite things about MLP:FIM is that, in the tradition of all great animation, all of the characters have their moments to shine. In the first season, every one of the main six ponies acts in turn as the “funny one,” the “heroic one,” the “insecure one,” the “angry one,” etc. And all in ways that reinforce their underlying characterizations, rather than subverting them.
Outgoing characters like Applejack or Rainbow Dash are naturals for those kinds of front-and-center roles. But I love that Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie get them too on a regular basis. And Rarity’s Crowning Moment of Awesome in “A Dog and Pony Show” may be the best of all. She’s the true bad-ass of the show, in my opinion.

I voted for Rainbow Dash, but Rarity and Twilight Sparkle are a pretty close second.
Rainbow Dash is kind of like Tony Stark: a jerk, but a fun jerk.

Haven’t seen it, but my daughters would want me to vote for Rainbow Dash.
What NOT to say if you are shooting for your 35th anniversary in a month: “No, my darling wife, if that hijacking started while YOU were cruising YouTube, it’s not the fault of our adult children watching ‘My Little Pony.’ I told you to stop using Internet Explorer years ago.”
Didn’t say it, just ran Malwarebytes and deleted whatever shit it didn’t like. We might make it to our Golden!

Fluttershy is my favorite (yay), but I like them all. Pinkie is probably my 2nd favorite because… well… she’s Pinkie. She has my favorite singing voice.
I like that I see bits of me (and the kids with whom I watch) in all of them, though. The kids pick a different favorite every week. I think Fluttershy stays my favorite because I relate most to her, especially in something like Dragonshy, when no one takes her seriously and dismiss her, but she saves the day. Also, animals freaking love me. I swear some day I am going to go outside and birds are going to alight on my shoulders and squirrels are going to eat from my hands.
I also like how we see bad qualities in all of them (overly spastic, cranky, too competitive, paralyzed with fear, etc.)
And while Fluttershy is my favorite, I requested a username change (pending) to a Rarity one because her part in the Gala song from Best Night Ever has been running through my head all week.

There is a TV show for children based on the My Little Pony toy franchise called My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. It has accrued a very large adult fanbase due to the writers’ penchant for dealing with heavy topics in a kidfriendly way and for being chockful of injokes and adult reference, I do believe.
