# My little puppy is a hard David Bowie fan. WTF??

His name is Manny, he’s two months old and accidentally I notice that he enjoys the performance of David Bowie when I play some of his music and he pissed the floor when he saw a little biography of the Chameleon in CNN.
Do I have to worry about this? Some kind of puppy perversion? Or am I acting as a father worried for his son’s idols in the seventies? :dubious:
I also have a 10 year old son, but he didn’t care about Bowie (he loves Beatles instead, like me). However, let me tell you that I show great respect for Bowie, I’m not a fan but I appreciate his art. The big stuff here is that I doubt my little dog has a refinated ear. He didn’t even have full developed her smell sense yet.

I noticed my puppy really liked the Jackson 5 a lot. But it was not until the day I put on “ABC” really really loud and she came running from the yard, streaked into the house and actually did a little dance in front of me, smiling and jumping and wagging and kissing me that I figured out exactly how much she liked them.
Of course, now that she’s seven, she’s too cool to act like that anymore…

My ringneck parrots love the Ramones. Isidore, the male, turns flips on his perch and bathes in his water tray when he hears them and my female, Azazel, tries to sing along. They don’t react like this to other music. In fact they get mad and shriek if I play a tape that’s too mellow for them.

I had a cat that found Nirvana restful.
I’d read somewhere that cats can be hurt by loud noise 'cos of their sensitive hearing - so I was always careful about playing music too loud with a cat in the room, until I bought **Nevermind**. The very first time I played it I turned the amp up full - literally - (and it’s a system with a decent output). The cat came rushing into the room, jumped onto the arm of the sofa next to the speaker so that one ear was about an inch from the cone, and fell asleep.
The CD stopped (I thought), I phoned a friend about something or other and about thirteen minutes into the conversation the damn CD gets to the “Endless, Nameless” track -
Aaaaaarghh! - The amp’s still on full and the phone is near the speaker - I nearly had a heart-attack.
The cat slept peacefully on.
