My little secret about thanksgiving.

Count me among those who don’t like T-Day leftovers. I like the turkey once, on my plate at the dinner. Even the side dishes are too much to eat later after having stuffed ourselves. So good on you for taking it easy at the meal knowing the sandwich would be there later.

I still laugh about my Nana, who like most grandmothers smothered us with food=love. We had completed the early PM dinner and were stretched out holding our stuffed bellies and not two hours later she comes out all hopeful: “Anyone for a turkey sandwich?” It was all we could do to groan, not right now.

Mmmm … turkey leftovers. Either as a straightforward turkey sandwich (although I might sneak some cranberry on there), or with warmed up dressing and gravy. I’ll pass on the leftover mashers, though.

Oh, and the sweet potatoes … Oh yea, any time. Don’t even have to warm’em up, I’ll eat those bad boys cold. Especially when they’ve been made with brown sugar and pecans.

Damn, now I wish I had leftovers still left over. :frowning:

Heh, next time do like we did. Cook TWO turkeys!

I cooked a turkey breast Sunday night just so’s there’d be turkey for sammiches this week. MMMMMMM…
