My little town might get sued....

My small town has had the same mayor for most, if not all, the 21+ years I’ve lived here. Said mayor spends hardly any money in town and goes to the next bigger town to do his shopping. About the only place I’ve seen him spend any money in town is at the bars. And maybe the gas stations.

Back in the 80’s, my father decided the day before to run for Treasurer of our township (pop 800-1000 at the time, I believe) and started calling people to vote for him as a write-in.

He got 13 votes. The incumbent got 8, another write-in got 5.

What spurred this was a decision the previous spring by the incumbent Treasurer to stop paying for snow plowing as of the end of March. Then we got a huge snowfall in late April and were stuck for several days because no one could get down our road. Or most of the other non-county roads.

Point being: Small town, people are likely to remember the douchenozzle who cut off people’s water at Christmas time and run against him next election.

Your septic must be powered by gravity and your well, by a rope & bucket.

“Not Billed” doesn’t mean “costs nothing”. (And, in fact, a rope and bucket would incur the costs of some additional food that you would not hungry enough for if you hadn’t gotten that extra exercise, so it’s not strictly “free” either.).

You mean exactly what the OP said she already did in post #1?
