I’m very sorry for your loss. I’m about 6 weeks ahead of you in this miserable process, and yes, it sucks. One of our lovely dopers described it to me as membership of a club nobody wants to join. Be kind to yourself and let people help you as much as you can bear - most people are very kind if you let them. I wish you peace in the days to come. ---

How awful, Lucky ☹ I’m so sorry ☹ After the funeral is over … pleasepleaseplease go see a doctor. Don’t get caught without something in the house to help you relax/sleep! Right now you’re still in shock – a month from now you’re gonna need sleep, lots of it. In fact sleep is gonna be your best friend for the next several months. Be selfish, be downright dogged about it if you have to but right now, you have got to put yourself and your health first, your immune system is not going to be running at 100% for a while. If your diet is shitty (like mine is), it may not be a bad idea to take a multivitamin. Grief like this is like having a really bad concussion – you’re not comatose but you’ve had a bad whack to the head and you’re awake just enough for _everything_ to hurt, unbearably so. (big bear hugs) PM me if you need to vent. I’ve been there. ---
