My Mom passed away Saturday night, just before midnight. She had ovarian cancer, which wasn’t discovered until mid-January this year; it was inoperable, though she did go through 3 treatments with chemo in the hopes of shrinking the tumor enough to be able to operate. There wasn’t enough shrinkage, though, and back in March she had made the decision to discontinue treatment and went into hospice care. She had been in the hospital or a nursing home until April 12, but preferred to be able to be at home, in her own home. My daughter, who wasn’t working, was able to go live with her and become her primary caretaker, so that she could spend her final days in the comfort of her own home. My daughter did a wonderful job of taking care of her grandmother; she had always been extremely close to her grandmom and it really was a blessing that she was able to provide this service both to her grandmother and to the rest of the family. We are all so grateful that Mom was able to be as comfortable as possible these past two months. I was able to see her on Saturday, though she was nearly comatose; I think that she knew I was there, even though there was not much of a response from her. I kissed her and told her how much I loved her. I will miss my Mom so very much, but am glad that she is not suffering any longer. ---

I’m so sorry to hear your mom passed away. My heart goes out to you and your family, because I know _exactly_ what you are going through. My mom passed away from ovarian cancer 4 years ago on June 12. :🤗: ---

I am terribly sorry for you, **tarragon.** As many on this board are aware, I just lost my father to brain cancer two weeks ago, so I know how much suffering this horrible class of diseases can cause. Your mother was truly blessed (as my dad was) to have such caring relatives there with her in her final moments. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. ---

Hopefully it is some comfort to you to know that your mother was able to spend her last days in her own home and that she had your daughter to help take care of you.
