She got a message saying there’s already a registered address. That would be ME. We’re on a broadband network (in our house, it’s all of three or four computers) and presumably share the same IP address since all the activity goes through one modem. Is there any way for her to register under her own name? ---

Are you trying to use the same email address? That’s one thing that won’t let you register, IIRC. Get her a yahoo or hotmail account to register with, and that should work. Not that I know much about this, but I seem to recall seeing that in ATMB at some point in time 🙂 ---

If I EVER got onto this board on her computer, would that be a problem? Earlier she asked me if I had and I said no, but later it occurred to me that I might have a while ago, though it’s been months at least. Share email? Egad, no. But thanks, **mnemosyne**. I know she’s emailed somebody about this. I thought I’d see if I could help too. She LOVES this board. Guess I have to change my screen name now! 🙂 ---

Never mind, problem solved. I HAD logged on through her computer and left cookies. It did occur to me that I know there are other households with multiple Dopers, so this shouldn’t be as complicated a problem as I first thought. Silly me. ---

As long as each of you logs on and off, there’s not going to be a problem. You’re right, it’s the cookie files, which is how the board navigates around. Well, we have separate computers, so logging in and out isn’t going to be a problem. But getting her to quit reading the boards and WORK might become one! 🙂 I WARNED her that this place is addictive!
