She will never get there. The distance from Vancouver to London is approximately 7585 km. To reach London, Mom would first have travel half that distance (3793 km). But to reach that, Mom would first have to travel half _that_ distance (1896.5 km), and to reach that distance . . .
Since space is infinitely divisible, Mom will have to reach an infinite number of half-way points in a finite time. This is impossible, so Mom can never reach London.
