Iā€™ve embraced this new philosophy. My travelling-to-work iPod playlist is now loaded with a combination of the best and worst of my collections. From MC Solaar to REO Speedwagon (god bless the Vice City soundtrack box collection!), Lemon Jelly to Abba. Pity my fellow bus passengers! ---

I realised a few years ago: I like music if it gives me pleasure. Donā€™t care about what genre itā€™s in. Iā€™m 36 and I have the new Sugababes album. I suggest that all thatā€™s happening is youā€™re maturing and being less fashion-driven. P.S. I love MC Solaar! Youā€™re the only other person I know whoā€™s ever mentioned him. Did you ever hear the track ā€œListenā€ that he did with Urban Species? Absolutely fantastic. ---

Yep. I also find _UK Gold_ strangely comforting, am starting to appreciate having a nice cup of tea and a McVitieā€™s Boaster, and have decided that the ties in Next are very reasonably priced. Iā€™m not even thirty. ---

If you still worry about what other people think of your taste in music after grammar schoolā€¦you need an attitude adjustment, in my opinion. I listen to everything from Christina Agilera to Frank Zappa. I listen to rock, rap, country, classical, and jazz. As a note to **Biggirl** , if itā€™s not Afroman and Rich James (or Coolio, for that matter) itā€™s probably The Grateful Dead or Phish. šŸ˜ƒ P.Sā€¦I spent most of 1980 thinking ā€œForever in Blue Jeansā€ was ā€œReverend Blue Jeans.ā€ I thought he was saying he was a laid-back preacher. ---
