Not the best episode but there were some good bits.
The episode was mostly a flashback to 12/31/1999, when they were convinced by Crab Man (Randy and Earl’s new smart friend) that the end of civilization was at hand.
So Crab Man is undercover? Or in the witness protection program? :eek: I only saw Joy flirt with him once, and it was pretty subtle, for Joy.
Catalina’s a stone cold bitch, ain’t she? “Leave him!”
Did anyone else watch, or did the repeat throw everybody off?

Witless protection program, for sure. “Do I still like cheese?”
I liked Earl christening Crabman – and also the crossing ships routine with Catalina: “Dibs!” “Huh?” “Never mind, she’s gone.”
Once again, Ethan Suplee stole the show. Not to knock the rest of the ensemble, but his performance is just… absolutely perfect.
I wish _I_ had a lovable idiot brother. 😃

I thought this one was rather weak, but I loved the bit with Crabman. He’s definitely in the Witness Protection Program.

I thought it was weak. Who was the other guy with them…the guy that claimed the electronic section in the store?
You know, as much as Earl and Randy were criminals, it’s a wonder they’re not spending a whole heck of a lot more time in jail.
We now know why they call Darnell Crab-Man…they forgot his name!! I want to know more of why he’s in Witness Protection.
My favorite part was the Cindy-Lou-Who girl when Earl was robbing the house of Christmas presents. “Don’t worry, she’s on my list.”
Hee hee hee.

Joy was a treat, wasn’t she? The faces she made with the teeth-whitening tray were great!

And Catalina’s “the churches are so beautiful here” was great, too.

He’s the son of the woman (‘Old Lady God’ from _Joan Of Arcadia_) that Earl helped quit smoking - that episode was on right before this new one.
Earl let the guy take the blame for a robbery and the guy spent two years in jail. He gave the mother back the two years by helping her quit smoking, and he quit, too.

This was probably the weakest episode so far. The characters seemed dumber than normal and despite some funny bits, there were a lot of slow bits.
I did like the Grinch tribute and the following lines.
“You’ll never be Harry Monroe again.”
"Do I still like Cheese, not if you want to stay alive. "
"Even Centipede? "
I am glad I checked [TVguide.com](http://TVguide.com) and saw the 8:30 repeat being shown. That was the first time I caught the quit smoking Episode and I really enjoyed it. A good lead in to the Y2K Ep as otherwise I would have been clueless about the crazy eyed friend.

I liked the sociological experiment of building a civilization in a Wal-Mart knockoff.
The “take a number” solution should be used in the Middle East. It stops tennis ball-pumpkin pie filling wars, it should be able to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
A good episode, but a bit slow getting started.

But if this was taking place before Earl quit smoking, why wasn’t he smoking at all in this episode? Based on his heavy smoking in the first episodes, it seems unlikely he quit for the day (unless it was a New Year’s resolution - nah).

I thought it was one of the best so far, too. I loved the music choices, although the only one I can remember at the moment is “TEOTWAWKI.”

I really liked this one, or at least the first 10 minutes, which is all I saw before I had to call my boyfriend. I’m glad they explained the Crabman/Darnell thing, and I loved when they were stocking up for Y2K and Crabman is carrying a whole wheel of cheese.
Earl: “Is that cheese?”
Crabman: “Shh! Don’t tell anyone!” _hurries off all sneaky-like_
Earl and Joy: 😕
Man, I wish I had whole wheel of cheese. ☹

I loved it when they started playing Ted Nugent’s “Free For All” when everyone was scrambling to claim their own personal section of the store.
