Seriously. I think we’ve only cleaned out the garbage bin like five times in 20 years.

> That’s okay, but I’ll be weeping a little since you validating me was really all I wanted out of life lol Get real! I wanted opinions, but from people who actually read/UNDERSTOOD what I was mentioning in my post. It seems like most people didn’t get it at all.

No, I imagine most people don’t get worrying about the cleanliness of their bins at all. Our bins are almost directly under our bedroom windows, but since they have lids we _very_ rarely smell anything odors coming from them.

Yes, the neighbor should have rinsed out the cans. However, the fact she didn’t isn’t worth a second thought. You feeling the need to scrub your recycling bin is your problem, not hers.

Because I didn’t want her to starve. And, no one else was around at the last minute. If my other neighbor had been around, I would have asked him. The cat needed food. Period.

Ridiculous. I don’t think me being a clean person is a PROBLEM at all.

> And I’m also with **WhyNot** …this could be some passive/aggressive posturing, but offering to take care of your cat just to be able to cause you a little grief? Seems like a stretch. If she has a problem with you, seems easier to just not offer to help. Your projecting your feeling and motives on her (and stealth bragging besides).

I never got a good vibe off of her and I think her ‘niceness’ is really just a front. There are tons of other women in my neighborhood who I don’t feel this way about. Unfortunately, they were not around the day before Thanksgiving. I do think that deep down she is passive-aggressive, but I also could be wrong that she did it on purpose. I would not call what I said ‘bragging’ as I personally don’t think being younger or in a relationship makes me better than anyone. If she hadn’t consistently said catty things about younger women in the neighborhood, the thought would not have entered my mind.

Let it go. If it was an honest oversight, its just not worth the hassle. It doesn’t sound like you have much of a relationship to worry about maintaining, so no harm in going your separate ways.

If it was on purpose, the fact that you’ve obsessed over it even this much already means she has WON.

For fuck’s sake, she’s a neighbour who did you a favour and was your last resort at the last minute, by the sounds of things. You’re an obsessive-compulsive neat freak who bleaches your goddamned recycle bin. These are all your problems, not hers.

Grow up.

The question wasn’t asking why you asked the neighbor. The question was asking why the neighbor, if she was so catty and shallow and a crummy person, said yes.

This thread started with me thinking the OP was a slightly paranoid cat owner. Now after reading all the responses where she attemts to justify her reasoning towards her neighbor,I can only conclude that she’s a drama queen. All this anghst over some dirty tuna cans in a recycling bin.

She could have thrown smelly food in your bin without going to the trouble of feeding the cat if that was her aim. She does things differently to you.

You sound like a terrible person. I bleached my ‘goddamned recycle bin’ cause it stunk like rotting fish. Only a dirty person would think this is ok, which makes you seem like filthy/arrogant scum. Eat a dick.

Do I really need to explain this again. Christ, does anyone listen on here?

They weren’t placed inside the bin. They were DUMPED inside purposely. There’s a huge difference. I guess people on here don’t mind the smell of rotting fish. If that makes me a drama queen in your eyes, so be it. Some of you just sound like a bunch of bullies with no lives.

I like tuna and don’t think it smells. In fact I just made a tuna sandwich for my lunch tomorrow.

Well…judging by how much food was thrown in the bin, it doesn’t seem like she really fed the cat much anyway. Whenever I feed her, there is NO food left in the cans, which makes me wonder if she even left the food out to begin with.

You aren’t a “clean” person, you are obsessive. You don’t need to bleach a garbage can to get it clean, FFS. Even if it did stink like rotting fish, which I have a lot of trouble believing, since it hasn’t been all that warm here recently.

Wow. You probably smell bad, so it wouldn’t really matter if you rubbed rotten tuna all over yourself. Have fun with that.

It did stink and the bleach helped. Why the hell would I lie about it stinking? Rotten fish smells regardless of how warm it is outside. You must be dumb.

I came on this board to get away from gross Yahoo Answers people, but realize that people on here are worse. So what if I don’t want shit smelling around my house? Is it that big of a deal? Some of you need to grow up and stop being bullies. If you don’t agree with me, fine, but don’t be assholes about it. She’s a catty woman. I didn’t say I was going to go blow up her house. I never said I was a model that everyone is jealous of. I just don’t like her vibe. If you don’t mind cleaning rotten fish out of a recycling bin, you’re probably gross. I may be anal, but at least I’m not gross. Anyway, to everyone else who actually read what I wrote and tried to be helpful, thank you.
