# My neighbors are doing this; is it illegal?

We had a car once that could resurrect animals from the dead.

Hit a three-point buck with it – $2,500 damages to the car; the deer got up, shook himself off, and walked away, staggering slightly.

The following year, we ran over a rabbit lying in the road, apparently the victim of a previous hit-and-run. **It** got up and hopped away.

A bird hit the windshield (didn’t break it, thank God!). We stopped. Bird rolled down onto the hood, quivered a bit, then got up, preened itself a little, and flew off.

Unfortunately, the car was no good at **self** -healing.
