Hey, I’m just concerned that in six years, they still haven’t picked up the trash.
Because, you know, I’d call the city about something like that…

I used to live in a place where this lady was going through everyones recycle bin once a week the day before pick-up day. She would take the tops off of the plactis bottles and throw them on the ground next to the bin. I left a not in there once asking why she didn’t want the caps? When I got home from work I found the note crumbled up on the ground next to the bin. I left another note asking why she didn’t like my note. Again crumbled on the ground. I left another note saying I put a lot of thought and time into my notes and that I was sad that she didn’t like them. Again crumbled on the ground. I left another note asking if I used different paper would she then like my note. This went on for a couple of months. Eventually she apparently stopped coming by because I was no longer finding bottle caps on the ground.
Is it possible she didn’t speak/understand English? The lady who comes and takes our recycling is a cheerful little Chinese lady who I don’t think speaks a word of English. I’ve given up on trying to stop her, because she always grins and waves at me and doesn’t leave anything on the ground. I kind of like her these days.
