There is a market for used mobile homes in that fashion? \ I could see the one part kind but the kind that are in two parts and have siding like a stick built house? But it is a neat commercial =) ---

True Redneck Commercial: 30 years back I was pretending to shop for a car at the local Ford dealer. Got to talking with the salesman and determined, based on accents, we’d growed, er, GROWN, up around Charlottesville, VA. He mentioned that, at the time (early '60s) his dealership had offered free driving lessons with each Chevy sold. I mentioned that I recalled that campaign, and asked how successful it had been. “Very successful,” he said. “Nobody in The Hills knew how to drive. It’s a wonder some of them had TVs. It was mostly by radio.” Thems what think “The Waltons” was quaint don’t know The Hills before about 1970. They went to Charlottesville because it was the Big City. In 1964 the Charlottesville Sears was the size of a 7-11 anywhere else. Twenty years later I looked it up and saw it was still smaller than my Chicago suburb. ---

That shot is an homage to Parker Posey in “Waiting for Guffman” when she talks about working at the Dairy Queen. She even looks like her (although the saleswoman is considerably hotter). That alone is enough to love this commercial. ---

It’s disappointing that it’s “fake,” in that it was made by a couple of hipsters who are fans of bad local commercials. But it’s still mighty entertaining. Too bad it’s not \*really \*a local commercial.
