And the movie “Arachnophobia” had me in the fetal position in my theater seat. I might need therapy after this one.

(But I want to go see it, in a bungee-jumping, rollercoasting, skydiving thrill sort of way.)

Jr Ranger II is strangely fascinated by the trailers for that movie but there is no way I am takng him to see it.

I suspect it’s going to be pretty bad…but I also suspect I’m going to have to see it. It looks too cool. But then, I _like_ spiders.

My seven year old son really wants to see it too, but I don’t know…I’ll probably have to preview it for him.

I’ve been following the production of this movie for some time now. Those who recall my assorted Rage Burns threads will remember my abiding hatred of spiders and the deal I cut with Fred, the spider who lived in my garage and then followed me across town to my new apartment.

I hate spiders.

I am seeing this movie for one reason, and one reason only. That reason is: a posse of villagers armed with chainsaws, pitchforks, and shotguns are going to blow up spiders.

The movie will have a happy ending.

I like happy endings.

(Well, maybe two reasons. As the former founder and president of the B Movie Club at my alma mater, I am obliged to seek out and support all campy movies, no matter how horrifying or high-budget. Blowing up spiders doesn’t hurt, though.)
