Espresso (with lots of raw sugar) and gelato are my betes noir. In a travel show I watched once, the host was at a gelato joint in Palermo, where you could have breakfast consisting of an espresso and a sandwich made of a brioche roll sliced open and stuffed with pistachio gelato. I’d better not ever go to Palermo. ---

I bought one of every flavor so the whole household could try it. We all hated it. I have often wondered if the batch we got had been allowed to melt and then re-frozen. It was all grainy and pulled away from the sides and bottom of the container. Definitely unappetizing. ---
