# My original post was eaten?

I just started a new thread in the Pit. After a long wait and the eventual timeout, I went to check if anything showed up or not.

Well, the new topic was there and 1 reply, but no original post?

That happens a lot. Just go post your OP to the thread, or ask a moderator to close it and try again.

Hey, at least it showed up. I’ve posted new OPs, had the server time out, and have _nothing_ show up–not even an empty post.

My lesson: Always copy full text before posting. If it gets eaten, just paste it in again later.
