All companies hae their problems. And by problems, I mean utter stupidity. And besides, they might just want you to know what the best laundry detergent is, or the best cat food brands. That could be the real news.
They do. I am just stupid.
It’s called professional detachment. I know a couple people who crippled themselves at work because the way they were told to do something wasn’t the way it should be-- meaning how’d they’d want if they were the customer. That’s stupid. Much better to give the customer what they want and charge extra for dumb requests, IMO.
When I go to an annoying commercial site-- noisy, hard to navigate, slow-- I blame the company, not the designer. Even if it’s the design is idiotic because the designer’s an idiot, it’s still the company’s fault for hiring said idiot. Unfortunately, that works both ways. I don’t go to a good site and think, “wow, this is great, must’ve been a clever designer who worked on it.”
I’ll tell a plumber exactly what I want, you can bet your ass. Maybe not about welding, but about where I want the fixtures, what they should look like, and how they operate. If I want the shower nozzle sticking out of the bathroom floor and the taps backward on the ceiling, that’s my business. The plumber can tell me why that’s a bad idea but if I want it I want it and if he won’t do it my way another one will.
