My package takes a road trip

I did not know that. Thank you.

Because it contains the best little whorehouse in Montana?

Update: Montana to Seattle, then Seattle to Kent…which is only 20 miles away. It stayed overnight in Kent, ate at the local diner (had the chicken fried steak, creamed corn and peach pie), had a decent night’s sleep at the Motel 6, and is thinking about where to visit next.
New pending delivery date from Fed-Ex is tomorrow before the end of day.

I once ordered a book from an Abe Books seller in Grand Rapids, MI. It shipped out to Louisville Ky first, then moseyed it’s way back to the GR area. If he had a local storefront I would’ve picked it up.

You know, in Ye Olde Days, when packages took forever, you just never knew what happened. Fall behind a desk? Fell off a truck? You’d just never know. It would show up, or it wouldn’t.

Now you know exactly precisely where it went. Australia?? WTF?

I was wondering how so many cities were appearing on the OP’s tracking info. Back in the old days, IIRC the location only got updated when the package was loaded or unloaded on/from a vehicle.

When I ordered a Casper mattress last year my tracking data showed the package was shipped from Chicago, and then radio silence for like three days. I strongly suspect it spent those three days on a train, because the next update was from Lathrop, CA, home of an intermodal rail yard.

Or the best little warehouse in Montana. 'Cause, you know, it’s a package. rimshot

I wonder if it’s a bus route. A fair amount of small package freight gets shipped on busses, and Naples ID just says bus stop to me.

Apparently it liked the chicken fried steak at the diner, because it is staying another night in Kent.

Well today Fed Ex handed me a stumper. It emailed me with the message that my package (supposed to come to my house) had been delivered to “the mailroom” of (my town). On a Sunday. My post office does not deal with Fed Ex at all and is of course closed on Sunday anyway. There is no Fed Ex facility in my town, which is far too small for such a thing. I have no clue what has happened. I filed a “case” with the Fed Ex Helpful Online Robot. We’ll see.

Sometimes they leave it on the back porch. Did you check the back porch of the post office?

frankly, I think I will. Good suggestion. The Fed Ex drivers around here are at the pizza delivery level. Except they don’t get one of those lighted signs to stick on their rented vans.
