# My paintbursh on Excel

This is a minor question but I’ll ask

When I use the format painter on Excel the curser used to turn into a little paintbrush. Well something happened. The format painter still works but it looks like an arrow not a paintbrush anymore.

How do you change it back?

that’s very strange - there’s no option readily available to change the paintbrush pointer. it’s unlikely, but it could be a resource issue - not enough memory to display the pointer icon, but you’d be seeing other issues, especially with excel. if you’re having other display problems, try scandisk/defrag, hard drive cleanup, etc. otherwise i’d recommend just reinstalling the software.
