Since neither of the parents is going to drive. And since they’re not going to change their minds about how disappointing **The Superhero** is anyway, just drive in the next morning. What are they going to do, wake up at 4am to rectify the situation? ---

I always felt like Tommy Smothers growing up – Mom always liked my sister best. She was Miss Perfect, I was the Screw-Up. I don’t think it occurred to her that at some point we’d grow up and start comparing notes and realize how she’d been playing us off each other the whole time, but in any case, we stopped responding to it. She’s actually flip-flopped the roles a few times – currently I’m Miss Perfect, not that I want to be – and has also tried to inflict them on her grandchildren, who are all perfectly aware of it and so won’t buy into it either. I sure hope my kids have never felt like I’ve favored one over the other! ---

Here’s a crazy idea - Have your parents stay at your house on the night your brother arrives - That way, they still get to spend time with both sons, and you don’t have to drive to Ft Collins - ---

Here’s a better one. Stay down at your house for the day and night after Brother arrives. Don’t go up to Ft. Collins until the next day. Enjoy each other’s company without the parents fucking it all up. Plus you would get the bonus of really irritating the parents and messing up The Mother’s precious plan. Wins all around. ---

I would love this, but I think it would create more strife than I want to deal with before I spend 5 nights in their house.
