I know a woman who named her first born son “God”. It’s right there, on the birth certificate. when she told me, she didn’t even give me a chance to ask why, she just said, “It was the sixites.” Her younger son, in the next room, peeking and translated for me, “What she means is; she was on acid.”

Og trip!

At first I wondered if your particular “Og” is a self-assumed nickname for “Original Gansta,” or the like?

I see a lot of wacky names where I work. A recent selection:

Tongie Tillie
Imhotep Box
Marrow Galloway
Daphne Threat Medley (band name!)
Angienette Suggs
Queenester Stallworth
DeVaugh Cobbins
Rodneyka Jones

Um, that’s “Original Gangsta,” obviously.

Carry on.
