Some modern apartment buildings have, in addition to the individual mailboxes, several large, package-sized boxes below the regular boxes. When the postman has a package, he leaves it in one of these, and puts the key for that box in the persons individual mailbox. Then the customer opens that box, gets their package, and leaves the key back inside the box. Real handy system – neither the postman nor the customer has to make an extra trip over to the apartment complex office, or try to get there during the time the office is open. Maybe you should talk to your apartment complex about installing a system like this? ---

I’m afraid that this system would make far, far too much sense to see wide-spread implementation. When I had a PO box, there was a similar system. I’d find a notification and key in my mailbox, I’d go over to the package-sized mailboxes, open up the correct one, and leave the key in the lock. I was happy because I could pick up my packages at 2 AM, the post office was happy because I wasn’t taking up a postal clerk’s time by presenting a notice and retrieving my package during their regular office hours. ---

It’d been folded in half to fit. :smack: ---
