I am curious to know how I am perceived on this board. Do people appreciate my posting style? Will the results split down the lines of people who agree with me vs. people who don’t? Should I just give up and restrict my Net discourse to the NDP chat room? Commentary? ---

Good Lord. Don’t tell me **Jenkinsfan** has managed to touch off a message-board-wide orgy of agonized self-evaluation and neurotic breast-beating. **Matt,** sweetie, you’re fine. You’ve always been fine. FWIW, I went and read the thread in question, and yeah, it seems to me like you’re talking on a more abstract level than most of the others. Seems like most of the participants just wanna talk about “how come public housing always gets so rundown and full of drug dealers”, and there you are in the middle, talking about Serious Economics. Sometimes threads just go off at a tangent like a runaway horse, and all you can do is hang on, or bail out. But you shouldn’t interpret the general lack of interest in Economics Theory 101 as a blanket desire for you to “go away”. IMHO, you are a welcome addition to the board, even if you do sometimes talk 20 feet way over my befuddled head (I think I understood about 6 words in your posts in that thread, mainly words like “money” and “bank”. Now those I get.) Why don’t you start a general Serious Economics Thread? I’ll come over and post things like, “uh-huh…uh-huh…” at intervals, nodding my head as though I truly understand. And every so often I’ll ask questions like, “Why is Alan Greenspan so famous when he’s so ugly?” and you can decide whether or not to answer them. (He is the latest in a long line of Famous Ugly People, that began with Henry Kissinger and continued through Gorbachev and Janet Reno. And _People_ magazine allows them in!) ---

I agree with **DDG** ; it aint your posting style that’s drawing fire in that specific thread (and elsewhere). It’s the fact that it’s far less fun for these guys to respond to abstract theory than it is to villify the theorist. It’s a lot _harder_ too. You should start the Economics Theory 101 thread. I’ll join **DDG** in asking totally pointless questions. He can cover the pop culture references and I’ll throw in an occasional scatalogical reference or semantic derailment of your argument. How’d that be? In the meantime, grow up ya giant francophilic, thin skinned, pointy headed morphodite. ---

Good Lord, not an Economics Theory 101 thread. It would just make my little head hurt. Although I could contribute to a thread entitled “Funny Things My Economics Professor Said Back in College”. I kept a list. Honest. It includes such gems as: “Money Multiplier equeals one over bla-bla-bla” and “Women should dress for success. The less the better.” Honestly mat, it’s nice to see some brain cells at work. Keep posting. ---

Don’t be sili. What kind of a board would this be if everyone agreed with/liked everyone? We would not even have the pit, fercrisssakes. I have read your posts in a few threads, and I can safely say I have disagreed with every one of them. But it would be sili to say you should not post here based on that. I don’t remember any unwarranted attacks from you on anyone personally, and you sound like you really believe the things you say (misguided as you are).
