So the kid is doing great! This week she decided to go back to school, and even managed to perform in her orchestra concert yesterday (which is why she insisted on going to school this week despite the school saying she should stay home until at least after Thanksgiving…) She still finds it hard to play her wind instruments, but the cello apparently causes her no problems. Next Friday we are driving down to Denver for a follow-up meeting with the various teams involved, and hopefully will have a timeline for the actual removal of the appendix! ---

The infection was too severe and too widespread, they did not want to risk cutting in with the problems she was already having unless they had no other choice. Lab results from yesterday looked so good they said not to worry about having any additional lab monitoring done between now and our appointment next Friday, so things are definitely going well! ---
