Some of the really seriously Catholic girl’s schools around here have band uniforms with horrible knee-length skirts. Their cheerleaders or dance teams or whatever have longish skirts, but those band uniforms are the worst. Guaranteed to be unflattering on every figure! And every school around here, public or private, requires a uniform. This can range from full-on-Catholic-schoolgirl with saddle shoes (which look really stupid on a 16-year-old), to khakis and a polo shirt at the public schools. I rather like it. Especially after seeing what the girls wore at my brother’s school in Maryland before they moved down here. Girls, do you want a career as a prostitute, or do you just want me to think you do? ---

Those aren’t panties, they’re _body briefs_. At least that’s what my school calls them in order to differentiate them from regular underpants. Why do I know this? Because a few years ago we hired a brand spanking new cheer coach who didn’t know you were supposed to have special fancy pants that go over your usual underwear. All thirty girls were flashing actual underpants (some were wearing thongs even) in front of two thousand kids. All hell broke loose, lemmee tell ya. So a committee was formed and we wrote up rules and then ordered the proper cover ups-- they look like boy shorts only in metallic gold. Yes, they went from flashing thongs to wearing hooker looking metallic gold hot pants. One step forward, one step back, sigh. ---

Oh, our school cheerleaders wear bloomers over their underwear. But the bloomers are under the skirt, therefore they are ipso facto, pro bono, e pluribus unum **underwear**. At least according to the way the rules are written. 😃 ---

Maybe, to be fair, they should just require that all sports and other organizations with uniforms wear them on game/performance days. Of course, the swim team might get a little chilly. ---

They’re **spanky pants**. All good cheerleaders (and fans of the flick _Bring It On_) know this. Abbreviated forms of the name would be spankies or just spanks. ---

In my school the fun thing to try was to put a loop of sticky tape on the cheerleaders skirt while you sat behind her. Then, using only your knees, you tape the bottom of her short skit to the small of her back. When she stands up–BIG LAUGHS!! ---

We had a cheerleader who came out dressed in a cute little shortie, the pompoms and, I’m assuming, the ‘body briefs’. The faculty told him to never do that again. ---
