Well, the wellness was short lived. She has had another episode today and is wandering around howling. I have just spoken to the vet (who will rarely suggest putting an animal down) and he has agreed that the quality of life is such that that time has arrived. **Count Blucher** , your words were great- they are what I need. ---

You’ve done good **Cicero**. One of the advantages of being an animal in the 21st century is that for many, including your precious\* Sanka\*, they are blessed with human owners who look out for their wellbeing and know when their time has come to pass without further pain. I’m not sure that I believe in Kitty Heaven\*\*, but she’ll be OK now. All the best mate. kam \*\*Mind you, my version of Kitty HELL would be a room full of Siamese all wanting to talk to you at the same time. Can you begin to imagine the cacophony?? 😃 ---

This is harder than I imagined. Every time I resolve to take her she becomes bright as a button and wants food. She had me up at 3.30 am trying to comfort her as she was throwing up. I got the car today to enable me to get her to the vet. Accordingly she has been demanding food and been wandering around - until now. She has had another vomiting attack. I have a vets appointment in 40 minutes. Thanks for the moral support. ---

It’s all done. I took her out to say goodbye to the Blue Persian and they nuzzled before I took her away. I thought could handle it okay. I was wrong. I wanted to be there when she was put to sleep. The little girl went down swinging- she wanted to get back into the cage and then growled at the vet as the needle went in. Thankfully it was all over very quickly. I had made arrangements for her to be cremated before going in. Just as well, as I didn’t trust myself to speak. I just waved goodbye to them and left. They understood. Oh, **Cicero** , I’m so sorry. It’s so much harder than I thought it’d be too - my Tosha growled at the shot as well, and that made me sad. I’m glad you stayed for it, though. They asked me if I wanted to stay, and told me that I didn’t have to, but I’d already decided I would. I owed Tosh that much, to have someone friendly there to stroke her instead of being all alone with strangers. My vet, too, was very kind - he let me leave by the side door so I didn’t have to go back through the waiting room, and I didn’t do anything for payment until my next visit (I’m sure they would’ve eventually mailed me something, but I had a kitten that needed to be spayed, so we were definitely going to be there again). It’s so hard, but you did the right thing. Many happy memories of Sanka to you. And take care of yourself for a while, 'kay? ---

I am sorry for your loss, it sounds like you gave Sanka a long, good journey.
