(She was a cop, but the murder was not in the line of duty.) So nothing like what happened to you has happened to me. I can feel empathy for you, but I cannot know what you’re going through. A little unsolicited advice from a recently bereaved man: Accept the grief and do not pretend it didn’t happen. That way lies madness. I know. Find solace in your good memories of your sister. Reach out to the other members of your family. They are hurting, too. My father once told me at a funeral, “Life is for the living.” It made little sense then. Now it does. Continue onward and live. Your sister would undoubtedly wish you to do so. And… good luck. ---
