My SO is hot!

Un-fucking believable.

I had no idea that this thread would cause such a stir.

First of all, my SO isn’t a petite little nothing. She is 5’11’’ and weighs 140 lbs. Her measurements are 36, 24, 36. She is a size 4. And, no there will be no pictures sent.

BTW, I had to ask her what the measurements were, because I didn’t know. I always thought that a womans measurements were bust, waist, hips. She tells me that it’s bust, waist, inseam. You learn something every day.

Like I said in the OP: She is on a varsity crew team. (That’s where the college kids row boats on the river, Siemsi.) She is very athletic and healthy. Because of the spring crew season she burned more calories than she could eat. Her breast size is the same, a 36 B. So she has no trouble “filling things out”. But, she lost weight overall and is more toned and slim. In our society this is generally considered more attractive. Sheesh!

I have noticed and enjoyed this for a while now, but it was just a nice reminder that she no longer fits into a Vic’s Secret medium that she used to wear.

We have already discussed her seeing a nutritionist during the fall season if the weight loss continues or starts to become unhealthy.

Debaser,

I apologize if I seemed angry. I was.

I guess I thought you were like the other millions of men around the world who think women should be stick thin.

Your SO does sound hot and healthy.

I hope you can understand where I’m coming from.

I’ve just heard men say/brag about their SO’s being a size 0-4 and that just sets me off. Why brag? That’s all.

I have never ever heard this. Is there a seamstress in the house?
When getting measures, my inseam has never come into account.

btw, Congrats to your SO.

And of course, you are much more qualified to tell us what we should find attractive than anybody else, right? Because all the “enlightened” people find fat attractive? Sure, different folks like different things, but who are you to be telling debaser that he shouldn’t be happy about the size that his girlfriend wears? Liking what the majority of the population likes = bad, but liking what a bunch of people on the internet say we should like = good? Is that it?

You have a problem with the fact that it’s the size that made him happy? Well, guess what - people need standards to measure against. Maybe he didn’t notice that she had lost the weight until her usual size didn’t fit. But of course that makes him a bigot, right?

And you’re saying that we have to be influenced into liking a particular body style? I don’t think so. Madison Ave doesn’t make me want to stay thin. How I look and how I feel about the way I look, makes me like the way I look.

My husband also likes the way I look, and I don’t think that Madsion Ave had anything to do with it. He finds thin attractive.

I noticed it’s PC to dislike thin people, because they are thin. What a trend.

Why brag? Why not? They are proud to have someone they find hot.
Do you have a problem with someone saying, “my SO is so hot because he/she is 30 pounds over weight.”?

Apology accepted and pit thread deleted, Siemsi. I’m glad I checked back before posting it.

And, why not brag?

Moderator’s Notes: I think that’s about enough of this. The man is happy that his girlfriend wears a size small from Victoria’s Secret, she’s lost a bit of weight, and he thinks she looks good and that’s all he’s really said. Those of you making judgments on what he should feel, or think, are out of line. You’re being judgmental and confrontational—things you shouldn’t be in this forum. (Of course, you shouldn’t really be judgmental anywhere on these boardsFor him, maybe “small” does equal “hot.” So what? Why do you feel justified judging him for that?

If I see anything more along these lines, I’ll issue formal warnings and move this thread to the Pit.

And a special note to you, Siesmi. Although I’ve not issued formal warnings to the others, you may consider this yours. Your comment is a direct and pointed personal insult. You will refrain from such in this forum. Failure to do so may result in your ejection.

All right, Siesmi. Since you’ve apologized and Debaser has accepted, I’ll retract that formal warning. Please be more cognizant of the forum rules when posting.

UncleBeer…

Sorry for that outburst. I had no right to personally insult Debaser. pregnancy hormones kicking in

It won’t happen again.

Can I still talk about my big … underwear?

I’m pretty sure this is false.

Bust, Waist, Hips.

The lenght of someone’s legs really has no bearing on how a garment is going to fit, except in length.

From this site you will see that Bust, Waist and Hip are given.

Height is also given, but there is no mention of inseam.

Every dress maker I’ve ever known is far more interested in hip circumfrence, than inseam.

When I was at John Cassablanca’s “The most beautiful people in the world”, the inseam measurment was never forwarded to prospective clients - bust, waist, hip measurements were.

Typically, pin-up models have their bust, waist and hip measurements given as part of their credentials - hight is a non-starter.

So, to sum up. While your GF may like to consider her measurements as bust, waist and inseam, no one else in the world does.

In any case - good for her making varsity rowing.

Your SO has a 36 inch inseam?

Wow. My son has a 34 inch inseam, and he’e 6’3".

Tris

Yeah, she is wrong. I am 6’5" and have a 36" inseam, and I have long legs. Ain’t no way a 5’11" woman has a 36" inseam, unless she has no torso.

A few points:

a) Women don’t have hangy bits between our legs. Our inseams are generally longer than a corresponding height man’s. I’m 5’9" and have a 33" inseam. Plus, we tend to wear shoes with higher heels, requiring a corresponding adjustment in inseam. I buy 34" inseams if I know I’m wearing those pants with more than a 1" heel.

b) It’s bust, waist, hips. Inseam is a separate measurement. However, it’s likely (from the rest of her measurments) that she might just have 36" hips too.

c) Victoria’s Secret sizes everything bigger. I’ve always needed to go down a size in anything I’ve bought there, catalog or store.

Congratulations on having a hot SO. As long as you think this, it doesn’t matter what size she is.

She could very well be right. I’m 5’7" and obviously a freak of nature acording to you guys. I have a 34" inseam.

Ah, but do you have a torso? I am an idiot I guess. Never trust a man when it comes to dress measurements.

little*bit I must be a freak too -

5 foot 7, 36" inseam. I shove the car seats back when driving my 6 ft 2in husband’s car.

I agree with those who are saying that the standard measurements are expressed in bust-waist-hips. It’s shocking to think there is something about clothing that I know that seemingly she doesn’t!

However, she does have very long legs and I am quite sure that she is a 36" inseam. I know she must buy jeans from only a few places where she can find them.

She stands 5’11’’ which is tall for a woman, and I don’t doubt that her legs are about as long as mine.

I am 6’3’’ tall and wear 34" inseam jeans. Although I have noticed when getting fitted for a suit that the real measurement is actually more like 31". Also this length when buying pants from LLBean which are hemmed to order. I think most retail places run short in the inseams for some reason.

Honestly, what we need are some pictures. Then we can all judge for ourselves. Maybe you could put something in the picture for scale, like a dollar bill?

I will enjoy showing this thread to her tonight. I may try and loosen her up with some wine and bust out the digital camera, with promises of blurring the face before posting.

I will be generous and estimate my odd’s of success at: 1,453,459 to 1. :smack:

36-24-36? Only if she’s 5 feet!
