Problems with inaccurate (usually falsely high) in-office BP readings often involve bad practices rather than defective devices.

I skimmed through the article and yep, yep, yep.

They’ll take me back into the exam room, get my weight, and then have me sit and take my BP (5 minutes?? 5 SECONDS is more like it). This is often after I’ve gotten there by driving through heavy traffic.

And I’ve OFTEN had someone tell me “no need” as I attempt to roll up my sleeve. WTF???

the cuff they put on my arm was so painful that I was screaming in pain and trying to rip it off, while the nurse was literally fighting to keep my hands away.

This is why I hate having my BP taken. It’s so painful for me, I’m sure it raises my BP.
