# My son is starting high school next week. There are a few folks around here who remember when my son, Dominic, was an infant, which is when I started participating on the SDMB (back on AOL). He’s largely the REASON I started participating, actually, because it gave me something to do while holding him and staying home all day. Well, next Tuesday he becomes a freshman in high school. How the HELL did that happen?! He’s also taller than me (barely) and wears bigger shoes. ---

**Opal** , I feel your pain! **Mudgirl** was just a baby when I started lurking around here; she was maybe 2 and 1/2 when I finally joined. She started middle school this year. ☹ Where _does_ the time go? (Yeah, yeah, I know: it’s wherever all the lost socks are!) ---

MilliCal was two when I joined, and she’s been in Middle School for a couple of years. She isn’t taller than Pepper Mill yet, but her feet are definitely bigger. Time flies when you’re having fun. ---

My life is completely different from when I registered here! But I’m pretty astonished in general to have a high-school sophomore, an eighth grader and a kindergartener. I still feel like I’m about 25. ---

Heh. I just had one of those ‘fleeting time’ moments as I was sitting here at my desk and my eyes happened to fall on the picture of my son in his army uniform. Then I glanced out the window and saw his old cat, Frankie, sitting in a patch of sunlight out in the yard.
