Anesthesia can be really tough on kids- my daughter at 5 yo woke up hostile after her surgery as well. She screamed “I want to go home” for about 2 hours straight until it completely wore off.
You’re little one sounds like a real charmer and I wish you guys the best.

When he grows up, of course, you’re going to have to counsel him on drinking in strict moderation, since you already know he’ll be a mean drunk ;).

I don’t know how old Riley is, but for a while I dated a gentleman who, at 30, you’d never guess had leukemia. It presented early, and they predicted he would not live past 10. Around 12 it went into remission, and hadn’t shown any complications from that time through the age that I knew the man.
Here’s to hoping for similar success with Riley.
