The pandemic is bigger than 2008 and climate change will dwarf either. Financial institutions like to think they run the world but there are a number of competing forces always at work. I’m old enough to remember when the Swiss bankers were supposed to be the secret masters of the universe. They weren’t.
I don’t want to trivialize the power of trillions of dollars. I just object when the complexity of power is not fully articulated.
