You are right companies have no obligation to provide jobs. What that misses is there is no company without employees. Think Henry Ford could have done what he did all by himself? We have ample examples of companies treating their workers like slaves. In the United States no less (and after actual slavery was against the law). In the early 20th century companies even had their workers shot (literally). More, they got the government to shoot them. This is history, not theory. Companies, left to their own devices, will push the wages down so low it amounts to slave labor. Kids forced to work. Injuries making you worthless. There are a hundred people outside who want your job. Kiss the company ass and be happy for what little you get because they have no responsibility to the worker. As the US mandated certain minimum rights for workers and demanded they be paid some minimal wage the corporations moved to countries who didn’t give a shit. You are ok with that? ---
