When marking your luggage, it might be a good idea to overdo it, and make it sloppy. Few people will accidentally take a case that looks like it was tagged by a vandal, and nobody will intentionally steal ugly luggage. Stencilling “Jessica Simpson World Tour” on it is probably a bad idea.
I remember in the late 1960s when every person in the US simultaneously put a red ping-pong ball on the end of their car antenna so they could find it in the parking lot.
Then one day every person in the US simultaneously removed it.
I’ve just remembered I have a well-used aluminum Haliburton suitcase that once held camera gear. Moved the gear into a Pelican case, so no I have an actual suitcase. I should clean it up and use it. I’m thinking I can put some decorations on it for identification. Does anyone know where I can get ‘biohazard’ stickers?

I put a fluorescent lime-green luggage tag and handle wrap on my black rolling bag. Didn’t stop some guy from picking it up and looking at it curiously, as if to wonder who put those items on his looks-like-everyone-else’s-bag. He put it back on the carousel before I had to smack him.
The store Urban Outfitters had embroidered motifs on their versions of the rolling upright bag. I suspected that the skull-and-crossbones or the crossed-rifles might lead to some unwanted attention in TSA screening.
